    As a development editor for Crimson Romance (Simon & Schuster) and Tule Publishing, Julie Sturgeon has developed more than 600 novels in her career. She is currently the executive editor for Tule Mystery, where in addition to developmental editing, she is responsible for acquisitions based on current trends, blurb and keyword positioning, titles, and cover design branding. 

    She previously spent several decades as a freelance business journalist, writing regularly for more than 75 trade/association titles in addition to consumer magazines, with a specialty in small-business topics. FLX was a crucial tool in her career, as she is still working today with connections and lifelong friends she’s made in the community. It was the main reason she stepped up to steer this community in 2021.
